Vanderbilt Children’s Surgery & Clinics – Murfreesboro
Southeast Venture provided tenant improvement and interior architecture services for Vanderbilt University Medical Center’s regional pediatric specialty care clinic. This state-of-the-art, single-story, 37,500 SF facility features operating and recovery rooms, a complete imaging suite, and specialized areas for urgent care, urology, otolaryngology, gastroenterology, and orthopedics, along with associated administrative and public spaces.
Natural light enhances the central lobby and reception area, characterized by its clerestory height, warm wood accents, and vibrant colors. A “paper doll” mobile, honoring Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital, a major donor, adds a whimsical touch overhead. The use of a primary color palette and rounded overhead ceiling elements continues into the patient waiting areas in conjunction with a varied palette of textures & finishes. Color also serves as a navigational aid, distinguishing between different specialty clinic spaces and facilitating wayfinding.
The result is a playful and imaginative environment designed to provide exceptional care to the community for years to come.
